Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director’s Message
Access Engineering began operations less than two decades ago with engineering products such as gabions and retaining walls.
Today, we are Sri Lanka’s flagship engineering company with the highest CIDA accreditation across most disciplines. We are a highly diversified company, strengthened by backward and forward integration that includes production plants and investments in real estate.
Our story is one of growth fuelled by operational excellence and innovation. They have led to Access Engineering being the ‘Preferred Partner’ among international contractors present in Sri Lanka. This trust is further underscored by our track record of completing the most Joint Venture collaborations with foreign contractors.
Our story is also one of raising standards in the local construction sector. Access Engineering was the first to introduce many novel construction technologies to Sri Lanka. Further, our commitment to conform to the strictest management systems – Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS) – is demonstrated by the ISO certifications earned on all three systems.
But mostly, Access Engineering’s story is one of relentlessly focusing on the triple bottom line: the economy, the environment, and our society.
Our organizational culture is forward-looking while being inspired by the past. Sri Lanka’s ageless engineering heritage moulded rock fortresses, irrigation canals, and other marvels that continue to stand proudly today. It is this trait of building structures that will serve generations of our people that continues to drive our mission every day. It is why Access Engineering enjoys the highest staff retention rate in the industry.
These aspects led Access Engineering to be recognized in the ‘Category of 10 Best Corporate Citizens’ in the country by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce over the past few years.
The future will see Access Engineering continue to play a leading role in engineering for life.
