Ground Breaking Ceremony of “Export Greenfield Warehouse Complex in Katunayake”

Access Engineering plc together with Camso Loadstar and WUS Logistics Pvt ltd celebrated the beginning of construction of the newest development of the Export Greenfield Warehouse Complex. The ground breaking ceremony was held at in Katunayake on, the 14th of November 2019 from 9.00am onwards.

The boring rig at the auspicious time took place with the presence of Chief Executive Officer of Camso Loadstar Mr. Koemraad Pringiers, Director Finance of Camso Loadstar Mr. Keerthi Bandara, Director Engineering of Camso Loadstar Mr. Mahesh Gunasekara & Managing Director of Access Engineering Plc Mr. Christopher Joshua, Chief Operating Officer of Access Engineering Plc. Mr. Rohanan Fernando along with the Directors of WUS Logistics Mr Nishan Silva and Mr. Srimal Fernando.

Projected for completion in 2021, this development is one of the largest single roof warehouse in Sri Lanka and the second largest in South Asia. This project will lead to set up a State of Art logistic city which includes warehousing facilities, cold room facilities, in-house value addition and multi-country consolidation services, auditorium, business communication centre, exhibitions centre, logistic education centre and research and development facility across 41.5 acres of land.

The proposed customized warehouse would enable Camso Loadstar (Pvt.) Ltd to expand its capacity while acting as a value addition centre for global production. The comprehensive facilities offered by W U S Logistics Park will be a key centre for attraction for Multi Nationals to Shift their production Facilities to Sri Lanka enabling Sri Lanka to transform into an export based economy.
