Access Engineering PLC (AEL) collaborated with the Ministry of Environment and Central Environmental Authority (CEA) to plant 100,000 trees covering all 25 districts in Sri Lanka under the programme “Husma Dena Thuru”. The project was initiated by the Ministry of Environment and Central Environmental Authority with the objective of increasing forest cover by 30% to promote GHG emissions reduction and to promote Carbon Neutral Climate Positive Productions. As the initiation of this CSR project, an MOU was signed between Ministry of Environment and Access Engineering PLC on the 27th January 2021 at the Ministry of Environment, Battaramulla. As a part of this initiative, during April 2021, a tree planting programme was conducted by AEL with CEA at 92 km post of the Southern Expressway.
