Dredging and Dredging-Related Activities
Access Engineering is the first privately owned company in Sri Lanka to acquire a Cutter Suction Dredger, delivered by M/s. IHC Holland with a dredging capacity of min 50m3 of sand per hour to a maximum depth of 6m from the water surface and disposing dredged materials within a range of 1km from the point of dredging. This is equipped with a rapid connection-disconnection system and salient features of the vessel are the compact dredge pump drive incorporating a reduction gear with integrated pump bearing and a fresh water engine cooling system, based on the well cooling principle. The cutter and swing winches, mounted on the ladder, are powered by piston-type hydraulic motors.
Access Engineering has been involved in creating some of the most complex and challenging development projects in the realms of dredging and marine construction. These projects often did involve a significant degree of risk, anticipating and solving such problems has secured our relationship with major clients due to the experience and recognition. Our completed projects include the Hikkaduwa and Puranawella Fishery Harbours under the USAID funded Fishery Harbour Rehabilitation project and the Lunawa Lagoon dredging project. The dredger was also used to excavate a trench on lagoon bed for laying a water pipe across the Batticaloa Lagoon.
The competent, skilled and committed staff with appropriate machinery and technologies, combined with vast experience in Dredging & Reclamation, Port & Harbour activities enhances the value of our proficiency in the field.
