FOR COMMUNITY, FOR THE ENVIRONMENT, FOR THE ECONOMY

Engineering Sustainable Foundations

As a responsible corporate citizen, we understand that our business has the potential to impact our stakeholders in a positive and long-term manner. We take our cue from Sri Lanka’s ancient engineering heritage. Irrigation canals built a millennia ago, continue to serve Sri Lankan farmers today. Rock fortresses stand proudly today, achieving a symbiosis with its surroundings that is awe inducing. It is this ability of the ancient Sri Lankan engineers to build structures that stand the test of time, serving countless generations, while enjoying a harmonious relationship with the surroundings that inspires us at Access Engineering.

Going Green

The Company has continuously pursued a philosophy of green initiatives contributing to a healthier environment as a good citizen of the Earth. At every level of the organisation, we adopt eco-friendly concepts through our standards, systems, processes and practices that include eco-friendly designs and construction procedures.

Our focus on the triple bottom line – the economy, the environment, and our society – is a natural extension of the lessons we continue to draw from our ancient engineering heritage, and manifests itself through Access Engineering’s empowered employee-driven sustainability and corporate responsibility initiatives.

These initiatives are founded on five primary platforms

Local Community Development
We contribute to the enrichment of society through economic and social welfare programmes.
Human Capacity Building
We invest in skill and capacity building, and continuous learning for communities that need it most.
Industry Advancement
Access Engineering gives back to the construction sector through education programmes, human resource development, and knowledge-sharing with peers on construction industry best practices.
Environment Stewardship
Access Engineering ensures that our environmental footprint is minimised through strict compliance towards environmental regulations, conservation programmes designed to protect natural resources for future generations, enhancement of wildlife habitats, and financial and technical help for local environmental projects.
Health and Wellness
We contribute towards the psychological, physical, social and spiritual wellness of society through awareness programmes on health and wellness, infrastructure development, and increasing accessibility to healthcare for under-privileged communities.
